What flowers are in season during the fall?

I'm having a fall wedding in either September/October in Alabama. My gown is ivory, my bridesmaids are wearing a color called spice, and the groom and groomsmen are going with traditional black and white.

I really adore sunflowers, but I'm not sure when they are in season. I know I'm going to have them in the bouquets even if they cost extra, but I need flowers to go with the yellow color that are also fall colors.

I'd like ideas for fall bouquets; they do NOT have to have sunflowers either.

I AM NOT INTO ALL GREEN BOUQUETS, so please don't suggest those.

Also, the wedding is really small 30 to 40 people but it's formal and pretty elaborate. I like lots of flowers, literally tons. I need either ideas or a web site (not theknot.com please) that offers ideas for seating, wedding arch, centerpieces, etc.

With spice, I would think orange would look awesome and very autumn like, gerbra daisies, calla lillies, roses, asters, mums even all come in oranges.

Here are some pictures of orange bouquets

Reply:Roses are your best bet. Because they are in such high demand, greenhouses grow them all year round and florists buy them in bulk. This means that they are always in season, come in a variety of colors, and have a lower per-stem price than other flowers.
Reply:My wedding was a fall one as well. My bouquet had sunflowers, and mums (which come in all the fall colours). Mum's in pots look gorgeous as decoration at the church, or in the reception hall (on the floor, too big for the tables!)

We also used bales of hay, pumpkins, gourds and indian corn to make huge decorations for the corners of the hall.

The nice thing is that none of these things, flowers included, cost very much, but they all look stunning.

Reply:Try yellow roses. Florists can remove as much of the greenery as possible and wrap the stems in ribbon your spice color (or the closest matching shade they have.) Roses are always in season, and they are a classic.
