Flowers for a wedding?
Arround 3,000 (cheap) as you described it.
Reply:I bought orchids from a wholesaler in Hawaii (and also was a training center for the mentally handicapped). They arrived in beautiful condition. Bought different shades of purple and green orchids.

Got enough for a beautiful wedding bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets x2, bundles for flower girls to decorate church pews as they walked down, mother's and in-law corsages (including new sisters), boutinierre's for all the men (groom, best man, ushers, fathers), centerpieces, and cake table. Also got greens to go with all of them. This, plus floral tape, ribbon (I went all out on ribbon), pins, and vases - total of $500! My mother and I do weddings for friends, and so the night before, we all got together and did everything ourselves. Turned out beautifully, and everyone thought I spent a fortune on all the flowers. Boutiniere's are super simple, as are bouquets. Even if you don't know anything about floral arrangement, orchid sprays look great in any arrangement, even if you only bunch them together. For table decorations, you can also cut the flower off the stem, and scatter them around. Simple, elegant, great savings.
Reply:we did our own, my mom is a florist so everything turned out great.

we used half fresh and half silk and had 2 less bridesmaids but we spent about $500 on flowers total (about half on fresh and half on silk). the fresh was used for center pieces and arrangements, table stuff, and the with the silk we did all the bouquest and wearable flowers. we ended up with flowers every where. we did those in silk because we needed to work ahead so we were not making bouquest the day befor the wedding. that week is busy enough.

a tip to save some $$$, don't look for specific types of flowers, look for the colors you want, it's easier to find stuff on sale that you like in your colors, then say if you have your heart set on lillies.

for our center pieces we used tall vases from where my mom works (we were able to barrow them) and put a bunch of pink babies breath in each. we also used candles, rose petals, and a few other pieces, they looked really nice when the tables were set (we had a sit down dinner) and the lights were dim.

Reply:It is going to depend on your location, your florist, the type of flowers you want, the season, and all that good stuff. I got married last summer in the Minneapolis area, and had a bride's bouquet, a "toss" bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 12 bouteniers, and 5 corsages. I also had 2 large arrangements at the church, greenery on every other pew, and about 60 single stems in bud vases at the reception. All of the flowers were a mix of yellow/orange calla lilies and white roses. The total cost for all of this was about $2000, and I was able to get a $500 off because my mother knew the florist well. Hope this helps!
Reply:depending on the type of flowers you choose - with a florist all of that would be about 2000-6000. If you do your own prob around 1500.

www.growersbox.com for wholesale flowers.
Reply:My mom paid roughly around $1600-1700 total (I would have to add the two receipts for the exact amount) this is for my bouquet and toss bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, flower petals for the flower girl, 10 bouts, 4 corsages, centerpieces for 20 tables, flowers for the cake, arrangement for the altar and unity candle, and 2 large candlabra stands on each side of the altar. I think that's it, can't remember if I am forgetting anything. It also includes delivery and set up and pick up for the pieces used at the church. I am using charlotte red roses, white roses, and stephanotis. Flowers vary greatly in price and areas. I have read on here many times that roses are one of the cheaper flowers to use. I don't know about that really. I am in the midwest. Hope this helps! I would just start checking prices with floral shops in your area. I have found that the mom and pop shops will give you more personal service and usually offer better prices for their services and their work is just as beautiful. Good Luck
