Flowers that rabbits dont eat???

we keep putting flowers on a member of familys grave and next day the damn rabbits eat them. Is there anything that rabbits will leave alone or anything we can put around the grave that rabbits will stay away from. (nothing inhumane please). as its in a graveyard and we need to deal with this as my daughter keeps putting flowers on mummys grave and they keep getting eaten.

Flowers that rabbits dont eat???
Rabbits dislike the smell of Marigolds very much, I plant them around my garden and in my flower beds and they keep the bunnies from eating everything.
Reply:They hate marigolds and have a prolem with roses
Reply:The only thing I can think of is to make a two foot wooden fence with a small gate if you can. You could make it pretty and keep the rabbits out. Sorry I don't have any better ideas but I thought I'd say just in case.
Reply:I can only suggest that you use silk flowers as they are pretty and do last. Or you can put the flowers in a plastic film like you get from the florist.

My sympathies go out to you and your family.
Reply:lavender will be left alone by deer or rabbits .////////////////
Reply:well so far my rabbit has eaten or destroyed any folwer or plant in our garden (including two trees). there are some smelly deteront cristals or gells that shops sell to keep rabbits, cats, dogs, etc out of your garden so ask in pet shops or garden centers for pest deternts
Reply:It is so sad what is happening to your flowers but I am so glad to hear you are trying to find a humane way round the difficulty. I imagine the rabbits will nibble on most flowers that are succulent and fresh and the existing answers have some good ideas, but if you don't want to have to enclose the graveside and putting them inside a large vase out of the bunnies reach isn't going to work, perhaps you could try something less succulent such as lavender and Rosemary posies or growing some dwarf shrubs such lavender in pots. It could be grown at home until it starts to get more robust and will last for several years with a little care. Perhaps your daughter may want to take a few cabbage leaves along for the Bunnies when you visit as they mean no harm and it may be a way of making it less distressing for your little girl if you include them rather than making it into a battle you are unlikely to win. Wishing you the best of luck xx
Reply:Are you sure its rabbits and not deer or some other "pest" ?
Reply:leave choclate laxative next to the flower or get pois. flowers its no inhumane just give him a bad stomachache and he'll learn to eat there again (use the whole pack) or just try plastic flowers
