The Theodore Payne Foundation is a terrific place to find a myriad of information on plants native to our area. Here is their website: http://www.theodorepayne.org/gallery/glo... Also the CNPS-California Native Plant Society http://www.cnps.org/cnps/nativeplants/ga... Both of these sites provide invaluable information on flowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees endemic to the California eco-system. Theodore Payne foundation also has newsletters on various plant groupings which I have found extremely helpful when I do research. Good luck.

Reply:The state flower is the poppy. My favorite flowers found in this state are the Columbine and the Shooting Star.
