What flowers go best as border for a driveway?

There is a spae between the fence and the concrete of the driveway that would be perfet for a nice flower or moss Bed, But i am not real sure what type of flowers would look best.

What flowers go best as border for a driveway?
petunias ( have to replant every year)


impatiens( have to replant)


asylum ( have to replant)


hastas are great.. they are green and leafy.. they can reproduce and you can splint therm and move them to other areas.. but don't get colorful flowers...


portulaca ( have to replace every year) but it covers ground great and the flowers look like little rose bushes.. the good thing about these are the flowers are all different colors on each plant...





it all also depends on the placing of your area.. is it full sun? most of the replacing plants,,, are very cheap if you go to like walmart and get a flat of them.. the other good thing is that if you don't like them at the end of the year the die of and you can put something else there next year...


you can also put in Shasta Daisey.. they come back and this year i found at K mart.. an African Daisey they are with and on the end all dark purple.. the are very pretty... they come back....


you can also put down Begonias.. they are kinda pricey but get nice in sized and are very pretty....

Reply:Does your driveway area get full sun or shade? If it gets sun then I would go with some Creeping Phlox, or aka Phlox Carpet. It's a very fast spreading perennial (which means it will come back every year) and it's low and compact. You dont want anything tall boardering your drive. It comes in blue, red, pink, or white. But this site can be a bit pricey, Lowes and Home Depot normally sell Phlox at a little better price. Now if your drive is more on the really shady side, I would plant Vinca, Evergreen. It's also a fast growing perennial and it has blue flowers during the spring to early summer. After the blooms are gone, you still have the dark green foliage. Reply:Go to a garden store and ask to see some Wandering Flock. Only grows a few inches tall but is thick and colorful, comes back every year, it spreads but you can trim it. Very nice. Also I like Sweet Alyssium.
Reply:Hosta for shady are, Daylilies for sunny area.
Reply:hostas can fill in, only buy one though because they can be divided and multiply every year. You can divide them over and over again. Find someone who has some, they would probably be happy to split them.
