Silk Flowers?

I am using silk flowers to save money and time. My main questions is does anyone know of an online store with good quality flowers at a reasonable price? I tried Michaels and did not like the selection.

Silk Flowers?
Online is not always reliable and then you may be stuck with something sub-standard.





My daughter looked at Micheals and didn't like them either, but she went back and had a second look and found some absolutely gorgeous white silk roses.





They were $10 per stem, and each stem had 2 roses and 1 bud. They also came with one very large rose per stem for $7 each, those are Canadian prices.





The brand name is Nature's Reflections. They were on sale half off last month. They are intended for wedding flowers. The stems are almost 2 feet long. They look very realistic, more so than any other silks I've seen. Some of the petals turn under, just like the real thing. They are handmade, not machine made.





The quality is very high, so they must have been out of stock or you didn't notice them. Ask the staff if they have flowers for weddings in a different area of the store. I think my daughter said that was the case here. She had to ask around for them, because she couldn't find them at first.





We also found some really nice silk flowers at Walmart. Our Walmart has 2 sections with silk flowers, and one of them is cheaper flowers, while the other one has the more expensive ones.





Check the cheaper section for flower bushes, where you can find all white or ivory silk roses. They'll be a bit on the small side, especially compared with Michael's flowers I've described above, but some of them are really beautiful. I got several in a bush, for only a dollar each. I was surprised at how nice they looked. The coloured ones tend to be gaudy, but the white or cream ones are fine.





Take them out of the display and have a really good look at them. We found some tea rose and some open roses in silk there that are really pretty. We cleaned them out, and I would have taken more if I could get them.





We also found some silk roses in the more expensive section at Walmart, in a lovely soft peach that look very real, just like the ones at Micheals do. They were quite pricey, but we got them on sale and cleaned those out too.





We also found bushes of leaves in the cheaper section, and got grape leaves, ivy leaves, and ferns, to use as filler and backgrounds for the buttonierres, corsages, bouquets and arrangements.





We also found silk garlands of leaves of various types to use on the wedding arch and tables, these were in the more expensive floral section.





We're doing the church in white and cream, with soft green and cream ribbons.





We found some very large, realistic looking peonies at a Dollar Store that we will use in the larger arrangements at the reception. The reception will have more colour, probably some pink, lilac, white, and cream.





I am making all the bouquets, etc and doing the arrangements.





Between Walmart, Michaels and the Dollar Store we found the quality we wanted, but we do need more of each.





We cleaned out the best flowers they had and now have to wait until they get more stock in so we can get more silk flowers and leaves to finish up the larger arrangements.





Now I'm looking for urns and perhaps some large baskets for the reception and front of the church, for the large arrangements.





Try again and have a better look at Micheals, and Walmart, and any other dept stores that have silks. I think you will find that they do have what you need. It might not be in stock right now so keep checking back.





They keep getting new stuff in too, especially at this time of year, and right through to June or July. They stock up for weddings.

Reply:Michaels used to be the place to go, but they have fewer and fewer of the flowers that look real, and more of the cheaper ones that don't. Try Hobby Lobby, they do better, and they have a bridal department.
Reply:Silk flowers are available at all of the major department stores.

Reply:I wouldn't buy anything online because they could look one way online and look another once you get them so I would go to stores and hand pick them out.

Reply:I got alot of my silk flowers at balloons-galore.net. They have lots of great wedding stuff, including lots of flowers and they are cheap.
