do you think flowers (pin) are necessary for coronation dance? i mean those that people usually put on the same color of flower pins with their date.

It's not necessary, but it is usually done for most formal dances. Think about how your date will feel. If they don't care, then do what you want. But don't make anybody feel left out or that you were careless.
